Manchester puts ring of steel around Old Trafford Cricket Ground as fans are warned to NOT bring bags to Ariana Grande tribute concert

A RING of steel has been placed around Old Trafford Cricket Ground as fans booking tickets for the Ariana Grande tribute concert have been warned NOT to bring bags to the event this weekend.

The One Love Manchester gig, organised by Live Nation, will be held on Sunday June 4 almost two weeks after the horrifying terrorist attack at the city’s MEN Arena.

Pop star Ariana Grande announced the concert earlier this week telling her fans she did not want "hate to win" after terrorist Salman Abedi blew himself up killing 22 people after her show.

Organisers have urged concert-goers on the event website "for speed of entry, not to attend with bags".

Pictures have shown that preparations are well underway at the ground, the home of Lancashire and Manchester Cricket Clubs, with staff setting up the stage and beginning to install the stage which will host stars such as Little Mix, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Katy Perry, Pharell Williams, Take That, Robbie Williams and Miley Cyrus.

Police officers were seen on bikes arriving at the ground, while security staff from G4S could be seen patrolling the site.

Madonna has been rumoured as a performer at the tribute concert, which will be live on the BBC and raise cash for victims of the terror atrocity.

Fans have hit out at the "disgusting" price of resale tickets, which sold out in less than 20 minutes, after some were quickly touted online for five times the cost.

In one ebay posting, two standing tickets were offered for £400 with the seller asking for 65p to cover postage – the listing was posted at 10.44am, barely an hour after the £40 tickets had gone on sale.

British pop stars including Robbie Williams and the groups Take That and Coldplay have been booked to attend

“Ticketmaster was unsurprisingly met with remarkable demand for One Love Manchester tickets we had on sale this morning – 140,000 fans were on the website and our call centre was buzzing," said a from Ticketmaster.

“With more than 450,000 searches on our site for One Love Manchester over the last 24 hours, demand was always going to be extremely high.

“We are happy to report that there are thousands of fans who successfully purchased tickets during the general sale.”

It is hoped the concert will raise at least £2m with all proceeds to be donated to the British Red Cross Society - fans who were at last Monday’s tragic concert will get free tickets.

Vile trolls have been mocking the victims of the Manchester terror attack in a secret, twisted “banter” group.
