Paedo Adam Johnson’s ex Stacey Flounders posts cryptic Instagram message as pals say she will wait for shamed footballer
Sources say Stacey has vowed to wait for the jailed footballer after dumping Bolton Wanderers bad boy Gary Madine
THE ex-girlfriend of disgraced footballer Adam Johnson has sparked rumours the pair are back together after posting a cryptic Instagram message a day after visiting him in prison.
Stacey Flounders posted the message: “Hold On & Stay Strong" and included an emoji of a woman and man holding hands next to a love heart.
The former air hostess has reportedly vowed to wait for jailed footballer Johnson after dumping Bolton Wanderers bad boy Gary Madine.
It comes after The Sun exclusively revealed in April how the couple started dating.
Shamed Sunderland star Johnson has less than two years remaining of his jail term for sexual offences with a child.
And now Stacey has told him they’ll kick-start their romance once he’s freed.
She visited him in Moorland jail near Doncaster this week to reveal the news and then changed her Instagram page to carry the cryptic message.
There were no signs of the ex-Sunderland star's family as Stacey, wearing ripped jeans and a jacket, walked back to her Range Rover following the short visit.
A pal revealed: “She’s told Adam that she’ll wait for him and he’s over the moon. He was heartbroken when he found out she was seeing someone else but could hardly complain.
“But now she has said she’ll wait for him to be released he feels he has something to live for and look forward to.”
The 29-year-old is selling the home couple shared in Castle Eden, near Middlesbrough, for £1.7 million but builders are putting the finishing touches to a £2 million home nearby which has an indoor pool and overlooks a golf course.
Ex-England winger Johnson hopes that Stacey and their daughter Ayla will move into the home with him when he’s freed in March 2019.
She had been dating Madine – who was jailed to 18 months for attacking two fans in a nightclub in 2014 –for less than six months.
Johnson, who earned £60,000 a week with Sunderland before they sacked him, was jailed for six years by a judge at Bradford Crown Court for offences against a 15-year-old girl.
Stacey began dating Johnson in 2012 shortly before the footballer transferred from Manchester City to Sunderland.
The pair’s daughter Ayla was born in January 2015.
When allegations of child sex offences arose she initially stayed with Johnson, but during his trial it was revealed the pair had split.

After his conviction it was revealed that sex addict Johnson trawled the web for animal and teen porn, had medication for sex diseases in a safe at his home and romped with random women on the bonnet of his car on the way home from training.
His sister Faye has been masterminding an appeal against conviction and sentence but so far two attempts have been rejected by judges.
But Faye has said won’t never give up the battle for an appeal when his last request was rejected earlier this year.
She said the family would fight on, revealing: “Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do.
“But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”
In April 2017, a video emerged of Johnson telling inmates he wished he’d raped his victim.
In the footage shot inside jail, a fellow lag points out that he did not commit rape.
Johnson laughs: “I wish I f***ing did for six year.”
He also makes crude breast gestures about the girl.
