THE SON of child killer Mick Philpott has said he believes "100 per cent" that his father is innocent.
Michael revealed in a brand new documentary that he is completely convinced his dad is not guilty of the manslaughter of six of his siblings despite Mick being convicted in 2013.
In a clip from The Philpotts: Five Years On, which is coming soon on Channel 5, Michael says: "There's no way on God's Earth that my dad could have done that.
"I'm 100 per cent positive."
He also adds that he doesn't think his dad would do anything "to jeopardise or put the kids in danger" and believes "someone has used his bad name against him".
Michael, who can be seen looking at a photo of his deceased brothers and sisters, also said his family has been "ruined" and people are "wary" when they find out who his father is.
The clip also shows footage of Micheal carrying one of his sibling's coffins at their funeral which was held in June 2012.
Dad-of-17 Mick was convicted of manslaughter, after six children he fathered with wife Mairead Philpott perished in a house fire in Derby.
Mairead and pal Paul Mosley were also found guilty of the offence and jailed for 17 years each for their parts in a plot which saw Philpott's former council semi destroyed in a devastating blaze.
Duwayne,13, Jade, 10, John, nine, Jack, seven, Jesse, six, and five-year-old Jayden were all asleep upstairs when the fire broke out at around 4am on May 11 2012.
Mick, who will serve a minimum of 15 years, was accused of starting the blaze in order to regain custody of three children he had with Lisa Willis who he allegedly planned on framing for the fire.
Speaking in the clip, Michael says his dad is "struggling" in prison.
He added: "He spends a lot of time writing poems about the kids.
"He expresses how he feels in poems.
"Sometime's it's memories about their future and how things would have been."
