Tiger Woods was found ASLEEP at the wheel with his engine running during DUI arrest – as it is revealed he failed FOUR sobriety tests
TIGER Woods was found asleep at the wheel of his car when he was arrested on Monday morning on suspicion of drink-driving near his Florida home.
The former world number one golfer was stopped by cops in the town of Jupiter at around 3am local time.
The 41-year-old golfer was awoken by an officer and the car engine was running at the time, according to the Probable Cause Affidavit.
The document also states Woods failed four field sobriety tests and revealed that the golf legend was on four prescription drugs - Soloxex [sic], Vicodin, Torix and Viox.
It also contained observations that Woods "did not know where he was" and was described as "confused".
Woods also had "extremely slow and slurred speech" after being awoken by a Jupiter police officer, who found the car the golfer was driving stopped in the right lane of the roadway and still running, the report, obtained by , said.
It added: "Woods had changed his story of where he was going and where he was coming from," the report said, noting at one point he indicated he was returning from a golf trip in California.
Prison records show Woods was held at the Palm Beach County jail at 7.18am.
He was released after nearly eight hours in custody at 10.50am local time.
A mugshot has also been released showing the star in a white shirt staring blankly at the camera.
He was charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI), police records show.
The affidavit revealed he submitted to a breathalyser test and blew a .000 twice, suggesting there was no alcohol in his system.
This is the second time Woods has been caught driving under the influence.
The dad of two apologised last night but said he hadn’t been drinking, it was a bad reaction to the prescription drugs.
He said in a statement: “I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions.
“Alcohol was not involved. What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realise the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.
“I would like to apologise with all my heart to my family, friends and the fans.
"I expect more from myself too.”
It comes just days after the 14-time major champion said he had not felt "this good in years" as he recovered from his fourth back operation.
