PM stars in Hindi music video designed to appeal to British Indian voters

THERESA MAY stars in a bizarre new Hindi music video which is intended to win over Asian voters.

The clip features a song praising the Prime Minister with the lyrics: “Let’s join hands with Theresa May”.

It shows her meeting Indian politicians, spending time with Asian community groups and visiting India.

The video was released yesterday by Conservative Friends of India.

It is titled ‘Theresa Ke Saath’, which means ‘Together with Theresa’, and the words are all in praise of Mrs May.

The clip is meant to win over voters from an Indian background by highlighting the PM’s links to the country.

It features footage of her previous meetings with the country’s leader Narendra Modi.

The Indian Prime Minister is extremely popular at home and with most expats, despite his controversial reputation.

The Tory video also shows Mrs May hosting representatives of the British Indian community.

Supporters reacted with delight to the new video – Tory aide Carrie Symonds said it was an “absolute tune”.

The chairmen of the Conservative Friends of India told the Telegraph: “Given the importance of social media, we very much hope that this short video will reach many British Indians and help persuade them to vote for Theresa May and the Conservatives on June 8.”

David Cameron had his own Hindi song during the 2015 election, also produced by the same group.

British Indians are believed to be the only minority group who tend to support the Tories over Labour.

Donald Trump also allied himself with the Indian community in the US ahead of the American presidential election.

He told supporters: “I’m a big fan of Hindu, and I’m a big fan of India.”
