A COUPLE have told how they tried to save as many kids as possible as they fled Manchester Arena amid the chaos after this week’s terror attack.

Chloe Nayman and her partner Andy, from Middlesbrough, told ITV’s This Morning how they took their two young daughters to see Ariana Grande in Manchester for their Christmas present.

The family told how the girls were full of excitement as they travelled to Manchester ahead of the gig.

But their excitement soon turned to terror after evil murderer Salman Abedi, 22, blew himself up at the end of the show.

Chloe said the family were making their way out of the venue when they heard the thunderous explosion ring out.

She said the chilling sound triggered panic in the arena, causing people to become separated from their loved ones.

Chloe said: “[Andy] started looking around the arena for an exit door because everyone was running around screaming, hectic, jumping over chairs.

“There was people lying in the floor, taking cover.”

Chloe told TV hosts Holly Willoughby and Rylan Clark: “As we were walking down the thoughts going through my mind were that we’re going to get into the foyer and there’s going to be somebody running around with a gun and I’m leading my children into more danger.”

She told how the couple not only looked after their own kids but stopped to help usher other children to safety after they lost their parents.

Chloe said: “I was at the front and I had hold of Cherry and I turned around to check that Andy and Hallie were still behind, and there were children behind in between us screaming with no parents.

“So we just got hold of their hands and swooped them in with us – just as many children as we could see.”

She added: “There was a lot of people trampling over one other in fear for their lives trying to get out.”

Chloe and Andy’s daughters have been left traumatised by the whole experience – with one even breaking down live on air and having to be comforted by her dad.

But the family were lucky to make it out of the venue unscathed, when so many others were not as lucky.
