Betfred punter makes £6,000 wager on Jeremy Corbyn being the next Prime Minister at 12/1
A BRAVE Betfred punter has put a £6,000 wager on Jeremy Corbyn becoming Britain's next Prime Minister at odds of 12/1.
The unnamed gambler, believed to be a man in his 20s, made three bets, backing Corbyn's lacklustre Labour Party to the tune of £10,000 against all the polls.
The gutsy gambler is not the only one putting big money on a Corbyn victory.
A second person from the Labour leader's Islington constituency placed a £10,000 bet on the party winning the most seats and achieving an overall majority.
But he doesn't stand to win as much as the Norwich punter who bet at more attractive odds.
In the case of a major upset on June 8 the punter in his 20s would stand to win £182,000.
The gambler placed a £6,000 on lifelong left-wing firebrand Corbyn becoming the UK’s new Prime Minister at 12/1.
A further £3,000 was splashed on Labour winning the most seats at 20/1.
His final bet was £1,000 - at an amazing 40/1 - on Labour reaping the most seats next month.

A Betfred spokesman said the Norwich punter regularly makes “novelty bets” on TV competitions such as X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
“This bet in Norwich is quite astounding,” he said.
“We had to check that he had enough money in his account before it went ahead and he did.
“He must be so confident in the Labour party, or very politically astute.”

A month before Britain heads to the polls data from ICM found Mrs May’s Conservatives had opened up a record lead over Labour.
The research for The Guardian showed the Tories on 49 per cent, with Labour lagging behind on 27 per cent.
If that poll is replicated on June 8, it could give Mrs May a majority of more than 170.
The bets also followed Labour's embarrassing manifesto leak earlier this week.
Betfred said "Although the leak has caused embarrassment to the party, the fact is the far-reaching plans that include more investment in the NHS, as well as substantial nationalisation, have already been voted winning policies amongst the increasing number of our political punters.
"Consequently the odds on Labour winning the most seats is now 16/1 from 20/1 and Corbyn to win the keys to number ten 10/1 from 12/1."
Betfred said the most popular bet was still on the Tories to win the most seats, with odds at 1/33 from 1/50 earlier in the week.
It said there is likely to be more than £2m placed on the general election.
