Bizarre footage of beret-wearing Russian SEALS armed with guns mocks elite US force
Tito and Lilo were filmed during training ready to perform on Victory Day
EXTRAORDINARY footage of Russian seals wearing berets has been released to ridicule the US.
It seems the Tito, 16, and Lilo, nine could be Vladmir Putin's latest weapon as they are seen bobbing around in the water armed with guns and helmets.
The mammals have been taught how to hold guns, defuse 'mines' and raise the country's flag as they prepare for Russia's Victory Day celebrations.
And they looked to be enjoying training as they saluted their trainer at Baikal Seal Aquarium, in the city of Irkutsk.
Their final performance will be seen on Tuesday as the country commemorate's the 72nd anniversary of the capitulation of Nazi Germany in 1945.
Director of Baikal aquarium Evgeniy Baranov told Ruptly TV: "The seals were intended to provoke some patriotic feelings, and readiness to defend their Homeland."
While the seals' trainer Maria Chernovopivskaya said:"Tito and Lilo – those are our two fighters - they're just like us, different, each one with their own nature.
"Tito is like a go-ahead fellow and Lilo, as a girl, is more shy."
Last week hundreds of military vehicles flooded the streets of Russia during rehearsals for Victory Day.
More than 70 planes and helicopters practised manoeuvres overhead with the world’s largest military transport helicopter Mi-26 escorted by a quartet of Mi-8 helicopters set to open the show.
On the ground, thousands of troops put on well-practiced parade in a huge show of military might.
The showpiece started under Joseph Stalin with Vladimir Putin continuing the tradition which has become the highlight of a day of nationalist celebration.
