Jeremy Corbyn pledges to ‘take wealth back’ from bosses as he praises Commie hero Karl Max as a ‘great economist’

JEREMY Corbyn last night vowed to take people’s “wealth back” from capitalist bosses in a day of reckoning as he praised the “great” Karl Marx.

In a bid to kick-start Labour’s disastrous election campaign the party leader promised to unleash fury on tax cheats, asset strippers, crooked financiers, Sir Philip Green and Southern Rail directors.

In his most radical rallying cry yet, he said: “The economy is rigged in favour of the rich and powerful.

“When Labour wins there will be a reckoning for those who thought they could get away with asset stripping our industry, crashing our economy through their greed and ripping off workers and consumers.

“Don’t wake up on June 9 to see celebrations from the tax cheats, press barons, the greedy bankers, Philip Green, the Southern Rail directors and crooked financiers that take our wealth, who have got away with it because the party they own, the Conservative Party has won.

“We have four weeks to take our wealth back. We have four weeks to win and transform Britain for the many, not the few.”

The salvo is due to be delivered in a speech to the party faithful in Manchester today (Tues) – in a formal launch of Labour’s campaign.

It came just hours after the leader backed Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell by praising socialist revolutionary Karl Marx – who predicted the end of the capitalist system and called for the abolition of private property.

He insisted the German was a “great economist”.

Mr McDonnell sparked ridicule on Sunday by saying people could “learn a lot” by reading Karl Marx’s ‘Das Kapital’.

On the campaign trail yesterday Mr Corbyn backed his fierce ally, saying the German was one of a number of “great economists”.

A poll yesterday showed the Tories had extended their lead over Labour to a bumper 22 points – 48 points to 26.

The ICM poll separately gave the Tories a 10 point lead among the unemployed and low-skilled manual workers.

Stunned Labour candidates last night claimed it appeared Jeremy Corbyn was simply trying to shore up the ‘core’ vote to ensure he can remain in charge when Theresa May wins.

Sources over the weekend claimed Corbyn will seek to cling on if Labour matches the 30.4 per cent vote share achieved by Ed Miliband in 2015.

One Labour candidate last night said only 1 in 200 people in their patch appear to like the leader.

They added: I fear Jeremy may be in for a reckoning himself on June 8.”

Shamed Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk was been banned from standing for the Labour Party

Simon Danczuk, the veteran MP barred by the party from standing as Labour candidate for Rochdale, yesterday said Labour’s top team was “obsessed” with Karl Marx and “celebrating Stalin” as he ripped up his membership.

It came just hours before Labour picked union-backed Tony Lloyd – a former Manchester police and crime commissioner – to run for the Rochdale seat.
