AN Italian village is offering £1,700 cash-in-hand and ultra-low monthly rent of £40 to lure people to move there.
The incentive is designed to stem the rapid population decline in the mountain community of Bormida.
Bormida is in the north west of the country and 50 miles from the port city of Genoa.
The mayor, Daniele Galliano, revealed his idea on Facebook, and said people can start applying in the next couple of months.
The low rent is in stark contrast to the average monthly rate in the UK is £921 while for Londoners it is £1,519.
But the idea has had a massive response from across the world.
So many people have responded and Bormida could well be on the verge of a population boom.
