Cadbury announces comeback of much-loved chocolate bar – 80 YEARS after it was first launched in the UK

This classic bar made a limited edition appearance last year and was snapped up by fans

CHOCOLATE fans rejoice — Cadbury Dairy Milk Tiffin is coming back permanently.

Exactly 80 years after it was first launched, the raisin and biscuit filled treat will soon take pride of place back on sweet shop shelves.

Chocolate fans snapped up a limited edition version of the bar last year

Its reintroduction comes after a trial last year saw 3million limited edition bars snaffled by nostalgic snackers.

Tiffin bars were removed from shops 14 years ago — the second time they had been withdrawn after first being stopped between 1972 and 1985 due to flagging sales.

But last year’s brief return left choc bosses stunned as the 95g bars were happily snapped up at £1.49 each, sparking a social media campaign from fans.

Tiffin fans will be free to gorge after the bar makes a comeback soon

It meant it was an easy decision to bring back the Tiffin for good.

Katrina Davson, Dairy Milk brand manager, told the : “By reviving an old classic such as Cadbury Dairy Milk Tiffin it enables Cadbury to reignite fond memories and instil that warm, nostalgic feeling that our fans have towards our much loved chocolate.

“Though we can’t say too much at this moment, we can confirm that we will be bringing back Cadbury Dairy Milk Tiffin and urge the public to keep their eyes firmly peeled for more exciting news.”
