Donald Trump shows signs of ‘serious mental illness’ claim psychiatrists as group start petition for his removal

The group claimed that the president's traits were grounds for impeachment

DONALD Trump has been diagnosed with a "serious mental illness" by a group of psychiatrists who have petitioned for the US President to be impeached.

The reality TV star turned leader of the free world has been claimed to have such a serious illness that it leaves him "psychologically incapable" of performing his duties as President.

 wrote: "We, the undersigned mental health professionals (please state your degree), believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States.

"And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is 'unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office'."

It has since garnered more than 47,000 signatures.

People who have signed the petition have agreed with the calls, with one supporter writing: "I am a clinical psychologist and I am concerned about the modeling of bullying, harassment and lying that is being presented by our now president."

Another, who said that they were a Masters-level licenced professional counsellor said that based on the traits exhibited by Donald Trump, the US leader met the criteria for having a narcissistic personality disorder.

They wrote: "People with NPD are incapable of relating to others on any terms other than how others can be manipulated or forced into doing what the narcissist wants for him/herself; people have no being and no value outside of this.

"Narcissists believe that others' wants are precisely their own wants, and ignore, or react with anger and aggression against, anyone who contradicts this world view. They are not capable of making informed decisions. It's terrifying that this man is the US president."
