Forget the Mother Of All Bombs – Trump has an even BIGGER 15-TON weapon to destroy Kim Jong Un’s underground nuke sites

DONALD Trump may use a non-nuclear bomb which is BIGGER than the MOAB unleashed on ISIS to destroy Kim Jung-un’s underground nuclear sites.

The Massive Ordnance Penetrator, or MOP, is a ‘bunker busting’ explosive and the largest non-nuclear bomb which the US has at its disposal.

The 15 tonne bomb was developed in 2004 and is designed to obliterate the deepest of underground facilities used by the likes of North Korea and Iran, reports .

In 2013, the MOP was redesigned to give it the added power needed to burst through the most hardened of underground sites, reports .

And while test footage has never been made public, US officials confirmed the redesign was successful.

Two of the colossal 21-foot-long explosives can be carried on the US Air Force’s 20 B-2 stealth bombers which are kept at an air base in Missouri.

Despite the bombs never being used in combat, rising tensions between the US and North Korea mean that may be about to change.

Since the 1960s, the secretive communist country has built around 8,000 underground sites, according to wire service UPI in 2015.

And those bunkers could be the MOP's first target following Kim's latest missile test, which spectacularly flopped.

Earlier this month, President Trump dropped the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), dubbed the 'mother of all bombs', on an ISIS-infested cave in Afghanistan.

The MOAB weighs in at more than 10,000 kilograms and contains a huge 8,164 kilograms of explosives.

This was the first time it had been used in the combat and is currently the largest non-nuclear bomb ever to be dropped in anger.

Aerial footage released by the Pentagon shows the 21,000lb-mega-explosive striking a mountainside and overwhelming the rural landscape.

The massive blast, which destroyed a series of tunnels used by ISIS fighters in the Nangarhar province, still horrified villagers 20 miles away across the border in Pakistan.

Witnesses from the frontier town of Goor Gari said the explosion was so loud they thought a bomb had been dropped on their village by US warplanes targeting militants in Pakistan.

Shah Wali, 46, who lives nine miles away from the border with Nangarhar, said the colossal explosion woke him up.

He said: “I was sleeping when we heard a loud explosion. It was an earsplitting blast."

Another added: "The whole house was shaking. When I came out of my house, I saw a large fire and the whole area was burning.”
