Tributes pour in for ‘lively’ gran, 87, who died in horror attack on train station as woman in her 20s is arrested

THE family of an 87-year-old who died in an "act of senseless violence" have paid tribute to their much-loved gran.
Dorothy Chiles fought against the attack at Birmingham New Street train station but tragically passed away after she suffered "severe" injuries.
The assault took place on the concourse of the station at around 11am on November 19.
Having suffered a broken hip, the grandmother sadly died at home just two days after Christmas.
Tributes have poured in for Dorothy who has been described as the "heart and soul" of her family.
They wrote: "A lively, outgoing lady whose energy was contagious.

"At 87, she remained as active as ever, gardening, driving and helping her family. We all adored her."
They also described their devastation at losing their "beloved matriarch".
The tribute continued: "Dorothy was more than a mom, grandmother and great grandmother —she was a best friend, a guiding light, and a source of endless joy.
"Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who cherished her."

Cops have confirmed their investigation is ongoing.
A woman in her twenties was also arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
She has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Officers have also revealed they are keen to speak to a tall white man with a short goatee in his early thirties who is believed to have witnessed the incident.
He has been described as wearing a brown knitted beanie hat, black framed glasses and a black double breasted wool peacoat.
Detective Inspector Ian Wright, said: "This is a particularly shocking incident and I’d like to express our sincere condolences to Dorothy’s family who are being supported by officers, and ask that their privacy is respected at this incredibly difficult time."
"The investigation into this incident is ongoing, and I would continue to urge anyone who witnessed the incident, including the man mentioned, to come forward and assist our enquiries."
