A TEACHER has allegedly stabbed an eight-year-old student to death at a school in South Korea.
The female teacher, in her 40s, confessed to the frenzied attack after cops found her and the young girl inside the Daejeon elementary school on Monday evening.
The student was rushed to hospital "in an unconscious state" and tragically died a short time later.
The teacher also had stab wounds on her neck and arm with officials now investigating if they may have been self-inflicted, local media added.

She reportedly underwent surgery on her injuries and is due to be questioned by police when she regains her health.
As cops continue to look into the alleged fatal assault it has been revealed that the girl was at an after-school child care session.
She was also due to attend a private art class shortly before being targeted, local media report.
Both the teacher and the girl were found by police at around 6pm.
Cops were first notified by the child's parents who reported her missing from the art class.
Police found the teacher had taken a leave of absence due to depression and had only returned to the school late last year, reports the Yonhap news agency.
In August 2023, a high school teacher was also reportedly attacked with a knife in Daejeon, around 87 miles south of the capital Seoul.
That same week, an attacker went on a frenzied stabbing spree at a shopping centre in South Korea leaving one person dead and thirteen injured.
Chilling footage shows the blade-wielding suspect launching an attack at the AK Plaza in the city of Seongnam right after he rammed his car into pedestrians outside the building.
