Horror as teenager dies at popular go-kart attraction with centre urgently closed down

Cops remained on the scene until the early hours

A TEENAGER died at a go-karting attraction last night, police have confirmed.

Staffordshire cops and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to TeamSport Go Karting Stoke in Burslem on Friday at around 8.15pm.

A boy was found unresponsive and later died.

The circumstances are not currently clear but police have said the death is "not suspicious".

Emergency services were alerted at 8.15pm, with officers remaining on the scene at the venue on Waterloo Road until the early hours of Saturday.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to TeamSport Go Karting Stoke following reports of a cardiac arrest.

"Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service were already there and found a man in his late teens unresponsive at the scene. Sadly, he was later pronounced dead.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM Coroner.

"Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time."
