The 27-year-old passed away just three days after the botched surgery after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest.

On January 26, Denisse underwent an operation at the San Pablo Medical Clinic in Tuxtla Gutiérrez by a surgeon who was not authorised to perform the procedure, according to her family.

Doctor Orlando Gamboa was later named by Denisse's loved ones after her uncle, Ammao Rodríguez, said the TikTok star reacted badly to intravenous medication administered to her.

Rodríguez told the Daily Mail her heart stopped beating shortly after the operation due to the adverse reaction.

Hours after the surgery, while in recovery, Denisse went into cardiac arrest inside the clinic with doctors telling her friend the situation was "delicate", the uncle added.

Her uncle said: "She starts to feel sick and goes into cardiac arrest and at that moment they take her out of the room where she was in the clinic."

The single mum was then transferred to Manzur Hospital and placed into intensive care.

The family's lawyer told  that the doctor in charge, Dr Orlando Gamboa, ordered the hospital transfer when Denisse's condition worsened.

Attorney Rodríguez claimed Gamboa transferred the influencer because they did not have the right equipment to care for her.

The lawyer said: "He took her out of the hospital and dropped her off at the Mansur High Specialty Solutions Hospital, which is where he transferred her because they supposedly did not have an intensive care unit."

He added that the doctors who carried out the cosmetic surgery failed to take responsibility for her progress after the hospital transfer.

She was placed in intensive care but her condition worsened until she died on January 29.

Denisse's sister Massiel Reyes left a touching tribute for the popular social media star, saying: "The day I said goodbye to you, I hugged you, I told you 'See you in Tampico' and I didn't want to let you go.

"The situation in which my sister lost her life is private, and for that reason I ask for total respect for the pain of my mother and my nephew Matías.

"I can only thank all those who have spoken to me out of concern for her."

The family's lawyer has vowed to take legal action against Dr Gamboa who allegedly performed the surgery on the influencer along with anyone else found responsible for her death.

The attorney said: "After this happens, we will proceed against the doctor and whoever is responsible ... but right now the main one will be Dr Gamboa."

He added that the family will remain in contact with the authorities from the Ministry of Health of Chiapas.

Her uncle said: "May the authorities do justice to Denisse and may the doctor pay in some way for what he did.

"It's not fair that she was already fine after her surgery and suddenly her health worsened to the point of death."

Denisse's family and friends are working to spread awareness about the dangers of undergoing cosmetic procedures in unregulated clinics.

No official statement has been issued by any medical authority regarding the accusations against Denisse's doctor and Gamboa has not made any public comment.

He was accused of being responsible for the death of a woman who died after having liposuction in December 2024, which he vehemently denied.

Denisse was also known on TikTok and Facebook as the "Queen of the Nenis of Tamaulipas" and was said to be healthy before she went in for the cosmetic surgery with no pre-existing illnesses.

She rose to internet fame in 2022 as a 'nenis,' a term for women who sell online products in Mexico which then saw her launch her own shop which she promoted on social media.
