THE SHOCKING moment US police body slam a 22-year-old girl during a heavy-handed arrest outside a bar has been caught on film.

The woman was thrown to the ground outside Bondi Beach Bar in Colorado on Thursday evening after she allegedly hit one of the police officers.

Local media  with police saying officers were originally at the scene in response between two men.

Police said Surat "tried to pull her boyfriend out of the area" and then claimed that she "physically obstructed and struck an officer".

She was arrested after the incident and now faces charges of third-degree assault and obstructing a police officer.

The video of her arrest has caught attention online.

A reveller captured the moment Surat was floored by police on camera.

Footage shows her in a tussle with a police officer who then in one swift motion, he twists her arm down which forces her to flip on to her stomach and hit the ground.

Surat was booked into Larimer County Jail but was later released after posting $1,750 bond.
