A WETHERSPOONS superfan has splashed out £500 on a huge tattoo on her stomach in a tribute to the boozer.

Tasha Bentley, 23, got the 1.6-foot-wide inking in five-inch tall death metal font completed in November in honour of her favourite pub chain.

Tasha, who boasts a collection of 55 tattoos, said she adores Wetherspoon and metal bands, so she decided to combine the two - making this design her favourite one.

She stunned her friends, family and staff at her local The Bull's Head Hotel in Walkden, Manchester, when she revealed the "iconic" tatt.

Tasha said: "I reckon I'm one of Wetherspoon's biggest fans now I've got the name on me. It [getting the piece finished] was on and off for so long last year, it was overwhelming."

"When I saw it all done I nearly cried, it was like 'I've finally got it done', it was like I'd received good news, it was a weird feeling.

"It's a Wetherspoon tattoo, you don't expect that kind of feeling. I was just so happy."

Tasha, a Spoons superfan with a soft spot for their Bumbu colada cocktail, was inspired to get inked after spotting a quirky design on Facebook.

She fell head over heels for it and decided to book an appointment at The Painted Man tattoo parlour in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Initially, she wanted the design as an underboob piece, but it wouldn't have worked due to its size and her body shape.

So, she opted to get it done on her stomach instead.

Now a walking billboard for the budget pub, Tasha is hopeful that she might score a free whiskey from the chain in recognition of her dedication.

Tasha told : "My family have grown into it. They do love it but they still think I'm weird, I don't care though.

"My friends were like 'that's a Tasha thing to do', they weren't surprised that I'd done it.

"The guys at the pub weren't expecting it. They were just like 'why?'. I said 'because I want to and I love Wetherspoon.

"I'm now a walking advert for them, even one free whiskey would be great."

Although she loves the final result, Tasha admits that getting the tattoo was a painful process. She had to have multiple sittings and used numbing cream to help manage the discomfort.

Tasha said: "It had been done on and off for a while, it was quite a lengthy piece. I had three or four sittings. I hated every minute of it [getting done].

"When I first got it done I only got the line work, I couldn't do any more.

"Then I booked in again and used numbing cream. I got half way, I got up to 'Wether', then used more numbing cream and got the rest done in November."

For Tasha, Spoons is more than just a pub – it's her happy place.

She loves the affordable food and drink, friendly atmosphere, and feeling of safety while enjoying a pint or two.

Wetherspoon declined to comment.

It comes as a new Wetherspoons pub is set to open at another holiday park in the UK.

The famous pub chain opened their first one at a holiday park last year, launching at Haven Primrose Valley Holiday Park in Yorkshire.

And new plans have revealed to open at another holiday park in the UK.
