Missing OAP, 80, and his grandson, 18, found safe and well after vanishing from Glasgow
A MISSING pensioner and his grandson have been found safe after they vanished from Glasgow.
Volodymr Sobchuk, 80, and Yoroslav Prokhyra, 18, were last spotted on Balgrayhill Road, Springburn just before 11am yesterday morning.
Worried relatives raised the alarm after they failed to arrive at a family gathering in the Bishopbriggs area of the city.
A massive police search was launched, with cops urging the public to keep their eyes peeled for the missing pair.
Images and descriptions were issued in the hopes they would help find them.
Police said their disappearance is "out of character" which added to their concerns.
Sergeant Andrew Caldwell said yesterday: “Both men are vulnerable and we are very concerned for their wellbeing and safety. We are carrying out a number of enquiries and searches to trace them as soon as possible.
“It is completely out of character for them to go missing and not keep in contact with family.
“Volodymr and Yoroslav are known to frequent Bishopbriggs, Kirkintilloch, Milton of Campsie and Glasgow city centre and officers are making enquiries in and around these areas.
“I urge anyone who has seen them or who has any information that may help trace them to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number 2652 of 19 January.”

Elsewhere tributes were paid to a man who died following an alleged disturbance at the weekend.
The man named locally as Rab McNally died in a street in Paisley on Saturday night shortly after officers responded to reports of an alleged rammy.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on Maree Road in the town.
It’s understood officers responded to reports of an alleged disturbance in nearby Lochbroom Drive where a car was said to have been damaged and fireworks were seen being let off at the property.
