Who was Chris O'Donnell?

Influencer Chris O'Donnell amassed a whopping following on social media.

He earned more than 28million likes on TikTok, as well as gathering over 240,000 followers on Instagram.

While the majority of his social media content featured clips from his travels, he also used the platforms to document his mental health battles.

Chris revealed that he got himself sober in 2018 and that he had also been helping others battling substance abuse.

In 2022, he posted: "I thrive off of true, meaningful connection, and lifting others up but I am also a very solitary person all the same."

He also posted a message where he pondered how he'd like to be remembered after he died.

In November 2024, her wrote: "I wonder when I leave this earth, when I leave the rat race, when I'm lying in the dirt, if you'd remember my face."

Chris revealed one of his proudest moments in a social media clip days before his tragic passing — his brother’s wedding.

He shared the TikTok video on January 4, 2025, just a week before his death.

Chris captioned the clip: "Haven't shared this before but reminiscing on old memories and this was one I gravitated back towards.

"Went ahead and threw some photos from the event down there in case I start to bore folks to death."

The text on the video read: "I know it's long, but felt like sharing one of my proudest moments as a brother, being able to send these two off into the next chapter of their lives."

His brother and sister-in-law were all smiles in the reel.

How did Chris die?

Coroners ruled that Chris died by suicide.

Since his passing, tributes have poured in.

His pal Morgan Ballou posted: “Chris, I'll love you forever. You've been a light in my life since we met in 2016,” .

Ballou said he wished he kept in touch with O'Donnell more than he did.

"I have so many wishes. In the end, I wish you peace," he said.

"My heart is broken."

Fellow influencer Iron Sanctuary, whose real name is Kevin Clevenger, penned a heartbreaking post.

"One day I'll find peace in knowing you're not in pain anymore, but today my heart aches that you're gone. I love you."
