Tragedy as boy is found dead at home – with urgent investigation launched

A CHILD has been tragically found dead at home in Cornwall, with an urgent investigation launched.

Police officers were called to Thornpark Road, St Austell, following concern for the welfare of a boy.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to the scene by South Western Ambulance Service staff at around 7.55am today (Wednesday, January 15).

The child was found unresponsive at an address in the road, a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Despite efforts from emergency service staff, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the boy's death, which is currently not believed to be suspicious.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were contacted by the ambulance service at 7.55am today, 15 January, following concern for the welfare of a child in St Austell.

The boy was found unresponsive at an address in Thornpark Road.

"Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.
