THE Left dislike him, but Elon Musk is right about Britain now deterring investment.

“Very few companies will be willing to invest in the UK with the current administration,” says the Tesla and X tycoon.

To which Labour retorted they were taking “an unashamedly pro-growth and pro-business approach”.

Who’s right?

The serial investment success story who has become the world’s richest man?

Or our novice Government which, after relentlessly doom-mongering about Britain for political purposes, unleashed a raft of business-wrecking, job-killing taxes in its first Budget?

Labour talks about being pro-growth.

What they DO matters more.

From higher taxes to new union power, every move appears designed to crush it.

And the early results are in: Zero growth since July.

From the top of the G7 table to joint bottom.

Unemployment up.

A self-inflicted recession possible.

We pray all this improves in 2025.

For now, Musk isn’t wrong.

Class war

IT is hard not to conclude that Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson cares more for rigid Labour ideology than kids’ schooling.

Why else does she pretend the Tories failed on education? They did not.

English schools rocketed up international league tables for reading and maths, unlike those run by the Left in Wales and Scotland.

That success was down to a rigorous new curriculum and competition between schools.

Labour loathes the latter and wants to water down the former to put “diversities” front and centre.

Leading its review is a professor who dislikes any “obsession” with academic excellence.

And the teaching unions are fixated on trendy gibberish about “decolonisation”.

It is not “stoking a culture war” to fear all this will damage children’s futures.

The staggering achievements of traditional methods at London’s Michaela School speak for themselves.

Ms Phillipson should swallow her pride, take a leaf out of THAT book and ignore the left-wing headbangers.

IF Keir Starmer gives our Chagos Islands away, weakens us militarily and pays ­billions to do so he will never live it down.

It would be a monumental capitulation.

Indeed his only course, with Mauritius now trying to shake him down for further fantasy sums, is to walk away.

He and Foreign Secretary David Lammy are lawyers by training.

But they are politicians now.

There is no justification for slavishly adhering to every whim of politicised international courts so plainly against our interests.

Mauritius has no genuine claim.

We must offer them zero.

Nothing. And our airbase there must not be compromised.

PM, for Britain’s sake, bin the entire idea.
