Gordon Ramsay has sparked a Twitter storm after saying "pineapple does not go on top of pizza".
The celebrity chef waded into the fierce debate dividing his fans into two passionate camps.
He first made his feelings known while appearing on the Nightly Show.
While taking suggestions for toppings from an audience he was forced to pause an order after someone requested the fruity addition.
The fiery chef retorted “You don’t put f***ing pineapple on pizza.”
Some were delighted to hear the Michelin starred chef condemn the topping while others told him to leave greasy fast food to the experts.

One anti-pineapple Twitter user said: "THE KING HAS SPOKEN. IT'S OFFICIAL".
Another added: "THANK YOU!!!! If Gordon says it; case closed, done, no argument. His palate is perfection."
But, outraged pro-pineapple protesters soon had their say.
One hit back: "He makes gourmet restaurant food, what does he know about cheap greasy fast food."
Another pineapple lover added: "Your taste buds must be dead then."
A third upset pizza lover added: "I was with him until he tweeted this 😢."
Another added: "I am upset and insulted I feel so offended rn how could you."
Arguments quickly broke out as Gordon's followers took offence at each other's pizza preferences with some saying the spiky snack only belongs in a fruit salad and others saying pineapple and pizza are a "match made in heaven".
It's not the first time great pineapple debate has seen battle lines drawn. Earlier this year the president of Iceland said he would ban pineapple pizza if it was in his power.
