Teenager, 18, killed after crashing Ford Fiesta into a wall during police chase as cops launch appeal
A TEENAGER has been killed after crashing a Ford Fiesta into a wall during a police chase.
Cops swooped on the Hyde Park Walk area of Sheffield for a "pre-planned operation" just before 1pm yesterday.
A black Fiesta alleged to have been stolen "reacted to the police presence" and tried to flee the scene.
After a short chase, the Fiesta smashed into a wall and an 18-year-old man was raced to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
His family have been informed and now being supported by specialist cops.
South Yorkshire Police has referred itself to the IOPC watchdog over the case.

The road was shut while cops combed the crash scene for evidence, but it has now re-opened.
A spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident."
They added: "If you have information, dashcam or CCTV footage, come forward.
"Officers are particularly interested in anyone who may have been in City Road, Park Grange Road, Spring Lane and Northern Avenue."
