The clues that could lead to ‘America’s Maddie McCann’ Isabel Celis’ ‘killer’ – from her open bedroom window to the desert where she was found
LAST week cops revealed they had found the remains of Isabel Celis, raising even more questions about what happened to the youngster who mysteriously vanished from her bedroom five years ago.
The six-year-old's parents put her to bed around 11pm on 20 April, 2012, but found she had vanished from her room when they went to check on her the following morning.
The mysterious case bore a chilling resemblance to the disappearance of Maddie McCann. Cops have refused to be drawn on how she died.
With no witnesses or forensic evidence - at least that have been publicly announced - baffled investigators were left with very few leads to chase down.
One of the strongest opportunities they have to solve the mystery will likely be the remote desert area where her remains were found.

After DNA testing confirmed the remains in Pima County, Arizona, were Isabel, cops declared that they did not locate the site by "happenstance".
This could mean someone stumbled across them - or that a tip off led cops to the exact location of where she lay - 50 miles from where she was last seen at her home in Tuscon, Arizona.
Another clue could come from a neighbour who said she heard male voices and a dog barking outside Isabel's window on the night she disappeared.
Alicia Stardevant told in 2012 she heard men's voices around 6.30am, just half an hour before Isabel was discovered missing.
She said: "I never heard her voice. I heard a couple of male voices right outside my bedroom window, right outside her bedroom window.
"But I didn't hear a struggle. There was no fighting and I think she was taken by someone she knew."
There were also unverified reports of her blood being found on the bedroom floor, according to .
And a bedroom window that was closed the night before was found open the following morning, while the window's damaged screen was found on the ground nearby, reported.
At the time, police also called for anyone who may have filmed a baseball game she attended the previous night to come forward.
This may have been so they could scan the footage for anyone watching Isabel or acting suspiciously towards her.
More than a year after she disappeared, her father Sergio Celis told of a family member he claimed was withholding information that may help the investigation.
Although he stressed he believed the unnamed individual had not committed a crime, he said the information could be "critical" to the case.
