Gunman on the loose after shooting near school with man in his 20s rushed to hospital
A MAN in his 20s has been hospitalised after a shooting near a school with the gunman still on the loose.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to Washbourne Road in Harlesden, London, at around 9.10pm last night following reports of gunfire.
Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived within five minutes and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was rushed to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
A large crime scene remains in place on Washbourne Road as detectives conduct inquiries.
Officers are yet to make any arrests and the gunman remains at large.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement urging witnesses to come forward.
It read: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man, believed aged in his 20s, with a gunshot injury.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life-threatening. A crime scene remains in place.
"There has been no arrest, and enquiries into the circumstances continue."
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.14pm yesterday to reports of a shooting incident in Washbourne Road, NW10.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response car and London’s Air Ambulance.
“The first of our crews arrived in five minutes.
“Our crews treated a man at the scene, before taking him to a London major trauma centre by road.”
