Rebecca, crying, begs the police to hurry.

She adds: "I went to work this morning at 7am and I did not come and check on her, I should have come and checked on her".

Rebecca also states she did not "hear anything at all" overnight in her home.

Sergio, who made the call, said the family has looked ";everywhere" for Isabel but could not find her.

Chief Chris Magnus would not say how police were led to the spot a month ago where the remains were found, except to say it was not "happenstance".

No arrests have been made and the police refused to say if there were any suspects.

The mysterious case sent shockwaves around the world and bore a haunting resemblance to the disappearance of Maddie McCann.

When Isabel first vanished there were theories surrounding a suspicious entry point in the family home.

This was suggested to be her bedroom window, which may have been forced open.

Neighbours were also said to have heard male voices and the barking of a dog at about 6.30am the morning she was reported missing.

Following the discovery of her remains, Isabel's family released a statement which said: "We want to thank the community for the support they have continued to show for Isa over the years and for refusing to give up hope.

"Now is our time to mourn. We ask for privacy during this time so that we can do that."
