NIGHTCLUB HELL

A CLUBBER has been left scarred for life after two feral mums smashed a glass over her head in a booze-fuelled attack.

Darcy Mossman, 25, was on a night out in Chester city centre when she was attacked by Ffion Dutton and Katie Roberts.

The victim was left with a 3cm cut on her forehead and now has a permanent scar after the women smashed a glass in her face.

Dutton and Roberts, both aged 29, have now swerved jail and were instead handed suspended sentences after claiming their children would "suffer" if they went to prison.

Chester Crown Court was told the horror unfolded on March 23 as all three women enjoyed a night out on the town.

Dutton "swilled" Darcy by hurling a drink over her - causing the victim to retaliate by chucking her own cocktail.

Darcy then left the bar and went to another club where she bumped into Dutton in the toilets.

Prosecutor Shannon Stewart said: "When she left the toilet and went into the bar the next thing Miss Mossman recalls is being on the floor.

“What can be seen on CCTV is that when Miss Mossman was walking by the bar Katie Roberts punches her twice to the side of the face knocking her to the floor before Ffion Dutton approaches and throws a glass into her whilst she is still on the floor."

The court heard Roberts was arrested that night, while Dutton was detained three days later.

Both women did not disclose why they attacked Darcy, with Dutton only admitting they "did not get on".

Darcy, who also suffered cuts and bruises in the attack, was taken to hospital where she had the large gash glued up.

In a victim impact statement, she told the court: "The injury has healed and there is no pain or discomfort but I still find it difficult to accept that this was done while I was out socialising.

"There was no warning. It was an unprovoked and an organised attack.

“The scarring has put a huge dent in my confidence. I find that I am more reserved and withdrawn.”

Roberts was handed an 18 month sentence suspended for 18 months and was slapped with a five year restraining order.

She was also ordered to pay £2,500 compensation after admitting inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Dutton was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for 18 months, along with 25 days of rehabilitation and 150 hours of unpaid work.

She pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Sentencing Judge Patrick Thompson said: ''This is a case of two women acting as bullies attacking a lone woman.

"You Ffion Dutton threw a glass to a person lying on the ground and lo and behold caused a dreadful cut to her forehead.

"In each of your cases both of you have young children, both have incredible responsibilities. Neither of you gave a thought to your children when you were drinking.

“You could have caused permanent damage to a greater extent. You could have blinded someone and you would be sentenced for many many years in prison.

"It was an incredibly irresponsible offence in both cases but immediate custody would have very significant harm on others, your children.

"You have come very close to going to prison today, you need to realise that.''
