The horrific attack caused NHS worker Natalie, a mum-of-three, to suffer a heart attack.

She was tragically found dead by a member of the public hours later.

Iidow, who was a complete stranger to Natalie, was found guilty of rape and manslaughter at the Old Bailey in October.

He was today jailed for life with a minimum term of 10 years and eight months.

Judge Richard Marks KC said lidlow taking advantage of the “exceptionally talented” Natalie when she was vulnerable and unconscious was “wicked and utterly reckless”.

It also emerged today that, while under investigation for rape, lidlow engaged in an "explicit" sexual chat online with a girl he thought was 13.

During the trial, jurors wept as they were shown footage of the horror attack Southall Park, West London, on July 17, 2021.

Natalie had earlier been seen dancing outside a shop with friends.

She was then seen sitting on a bench within the park with a different man when lidow walked past and looked at them.

Natalie was lying down and had shown "no clear movement" for around half an hour before lidow again "nonchalantly" approached.

During the attack, the court heard she was "deeply unconscious".

Alison Morgan KC, prosecuting, said: "What was the defendant doing there, what was he seeking to do, walking up and down the paths in the middle of the night and thinking about what his objectives must have been – seeking out a vulnerable woman to rape."

She added: "Natalie Shotter does not appear to have been conscious at the time that she was raped, let alone consenting to the defendant.

"He could never have believed that she was consenting.

"It was the process of raping Natalie repeatedly that caused her death."

Further CCTV showed lidow moving her body around in different positions as he raped her.

Natalie was little more than 5ft tall and weighed just 43kg (6st 11lb).

After the attack, lidow drove back to his home in Hounslow, West London, via a petrol station where he bought mouthwash and cat food.

Natalie was tragically found dead by a passer-by in the park in the early hours of July 17, 2021.

Ms Morgan added: "Very sadly, by the time she was found, she had died and it was obvious that she had been dead for a number of hours.

"She had not been stabbed or beaten to death, there were no obvious signs of significant injury to her body and there was nobody else with her.

"It has taken time to understand what must have happened to Natalie that night to understand what it was that must have caused her death."

Swabs taken from Natalie's mouth area matched DNA samples taken from lidow.

He was subsequently arrested at his home on August 4, 2021.

The predator tried to claim the sexual activity had been consensual, but he was found unanimously guilty by a a jury on October 18.

Natalie's mum Dr Shotter Weetman paid tribute saying her daughter was a “beautiful soul” and the “kindest girl” who would help others.

In a victim impact statement, she added: "She was brilliant at her job, kind to staff and patients alike.

“The day I found out about Nat, I felt absolutely sick and I felt a terrible feeling of doom. I was in absolute shock.

“I then had to later learn from the police that my daughter had died in these horrific circumstances.

“When Mohamed Iidow – and that is the only time I will say his name – was finally charged I was so glad but I realised everything was still to come.

“Watching the CCTV of my daughter being raped was desperately sad to see. No mother should have to see that.”

She also labelled her daughter a “great mum” to her three children aged five to 19.

Following the sentencing, Kirsty O’Connor, of the CPS, said: “Natalie Shotter had been on a night out enjoying herself and she was preyed upon by Mohamed Iidow.

"He raped her repeatedly, while she was unconscious, which caused her death.

“The investigation was extremely complex and involved working closely with the police and expert witnesses to establish what had happened to the victim and what led to her death.

“During police interviews, he stated that Natalie was alive and consenting to the sexual activity with him.

“However, CCTV footage has proved that to not be the case, with the victim unconscious during the entire attack."
