SARA Sharif’s killer dad exploited EU rules to stay in Britain before he murdered his daughter.
Urfan Sharif, 42, was accused at his trial of trying to arrange a sham marriage with a Polish woman in the UK in March 2009.
His student visa was about to run out, and marrying a Pole would have allowed him to stay.
But the woman fled to Poland after two weeks, accusing him of false imprisonment.
It was at least the second police report against Sharif alleging violence against women.
He then married Polish national Olga Domin, 23, at a register office in Surrey. She later also accused him of violence.

At the Old Bailey, Sharif was accused of pursuing the women because Poland was, like the UK at the time, an EU member.
By marrying an EU national, Sharif could stay here thanks to the Free Movement Directive, introduced in 2004.
Caroline Carberry KC, representing Sara’s stepmum Beinash Batool, said he entered a sham marriage, denied by Sharif.
He claimed in court he had been given indefinite leave to remain in the UK.

He and Batool would go on to commit a string of atrocities against Sara at their home in Woking.
