Desperate search for elderly man who went missing in deadly Storm Darragh with family ‘very concerned’

He never came home from the shop

A POLICE search is underway for an elderly man who left for the shop in Storm Darragh and did not return home.

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for help in finding 85-year-old Barry Walsh.

Mr Walsh was last seen in Eggborough, where he left his home to go to the village shop at 5pm yesterday, December 7.

He was driving a grey Honda Jazz.

He's not been seen since and police and his family are very concerned for his welfare.

He is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slight build and has glasses, blue eyes and grey hair.

He may be wearing grey trousers, black leather shoes, blue jumper and a thin black coat.

People have been asked to get in touch with cops if you think you may have seen Mr Walsh, or a grey Honda Jazz parked anywhere unusual in the area.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "“Call us on 101, select option one and provide reference 12240223671.”
