Girl, 12, arrested after huge fire rips through iconic Debenhams department store in Canterbury
A 12-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested after a fire tore through an iconic Debenhams store.
Some 50 firefighters rushed to the scene after flames engulfed the site in Canterbury city centre on Monday night.
Cops today confirmed a 12-year-old girl was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.
It comes after two boys, both 15, were also arrested and later released.
Eight fire engines, two height vehicles and around 50 firefighters were on hand to bring the blaze under control.
Roads were closed and 30 residents were evacuated from nine flats while the fire in Guildhall Street ravaged the building.

The first arrest made on Tuesday was a 15-year-old boy.
Kent Police said today he has been released on bail.
A 15-year-old from Ashford who was arrested on Wednesday was later released without charge.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information and have thanked those who have already come forward.
