Nine-month-old baby was left to drown in the bath ‘while his mum, 28, chatted to her family in another room’
Cops say the child's two older brothers, aged seven and ten, pulled him from the bath
A MUM of five has been charged with manslaughter after her nine-month-old son drowned in a bathtub while she entertained guests.
The child's two older brothers, aged seven and ten, pulled him from the bath and unsuccessfully tried to revive him, reported.
Cops say the charge is based on Kandita Kattenberg's "gross neglect" of her son Carlyle who put "more priority in her social activities" than her bathing child.
The 28-year-old, from Charters Towers, Queensland, Australia, has been bailed and is due to appear in court on April 18.

Dave Miles, a detective senior sergeant with Townsville Police, said: "This case is based upon, what we will allege, is the gross neglect on the part of the mother, regarding a child being left unsupervised in a bath for an extended period of time.
"Police will allege during the course of that the child has drowned.
"The mother of the child was also at the residence talking to other people while the child was in the bath.
"It will be alleged the mother put more priority in her social activities than she did in her supervision of the child in the bath."
The remainder of Kattenberg's children no longer reside with her, the paper reported.
