Great Repeal Bill to be unveiled today and transfer all EU legislation into UK law — enough for an entire Parliament
Brexit Secretary David Davis will say it puts post-Brexit Britain at the front of the queue for a new trade deal
BREXIT Secretary David Davis will launch a mammoth bid to put all EU legislation into UK law today – and say it puts us at the front of the queue for a new trade deal.
Unveiling the "Great Repeal Bill", the Tory Minister will say the fact we are keeping EU standards and laws means a “comprehensive new economic partnership” is already within reach.
Under the Bill, the UK will convert all EU laws into domestic law through 1,000 pieces of legislation.
This is the average number of laws passed during an entire five-year Parliament.

Ministers claim elected politicians in this country will then be able to pick and choose which laws to keep – and also devolve rule-making in certain areas to Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.
MPs last night urged for "sunset clauses", or deadlines on controversial legislation to guarantee Brexit Britain can still slash red-tape.

Mr Davis said: “At the heart of the referendum decision was sovereignty.
"A strong, independent country needs control of its own laws.
“That process starts now.
“Converting EU law into UK law, and ending the supremacy of lawmakers in Brussels is an important step in giving businesses, workers and consumers the certainty they need.”
