THIS is the moment Putin's blundering Dad's Army proudly shot down what they thought was a Ukrainian attack drone - only to find it was their own.

Hilarious footage shows a rookie soldier downing the £73,000 FPV before boasting about it in front of Russian state media.

The Belgorod territorial guard invited famous state media military correspondent Olga Kurlaeva to show how they guard their border region.

They are seen using their small arms to shoot at what they were convinced was a Ukrainian Furia aircraft-style reconnaissance drone.

After firing rounds of bullets, the drone can be seen falling down.

The Russian Captain who shot it down says: “We downed [a Ukrainian] Furia. A reconnaissance, aircraft-type drone was flying."

Kurlaeva even popsted the footage praising the skills of the Russian Dad’s Army.

She said: "The Belgorod men are so tough that they shoot down Ukrainain aircraft-type drones with their rifles.

"Real people live in the border area."

But the only probmen was that it was not a Ukrainian drone.,

Outrage soon followed when it was found that the drone was instead a valuable Russian surveliance equyipment.

One furious military correspondent posted: “The Belgorod men are so tough that they apparently committed friendly fire in front of the cameras.”

Red-faced Kurlaeva was forced to remove her post and delete the video.

Reports said that Putin’s home guard received a “scolding” from the military high command - and will now undergo intensive training in drone identification.

Soon after coming under fire, Kurlaeva sought to defend the Dad’s Army force.

She said: "The object was moving towards a populated area. What were they supposed to do? Just stand and watch?”

Russian border guards who were at the scene also failed to spot that this was a Putin drone, she claimed.

The Belgorod territorial guard is made up of local volunteers who have been deemed unfit to fight wars.

The Russian Dad’s Army have call signs like "Farmer" and "Car Mechanic’" and many are too old or out of condition be a part of Putin’s invasion force.

It comes after a Russian military column was completely destroyed by Putin's own attack helicopter in another humiliating blunder in Kursk.

Shocking pictures appear to show the self-propelled artillery reduced to ashes and severely damaged as Vlad's armed forces fail to halt Ukraine's brave advance.

Propagandists initially boasted a strike on a Ukrainian armoured column.

But then it was revealed the Ka-52M had hit its own side in a friendly fire, according to Telegram channels.

The alleged friendly fire incident is believed to have destroyed one 2S19M2 Msta-S self-propelled gun and damaged another.

The incident occurred in the area of the village of Krivitskiye Budy in the Belovsky district of the Kursk region.

MEAT GRINDER WAR

Putin yesterday faced his deadliest day of war as the daily Russian losses stood at an all-time high since the start of the conflict.

Moscow lost over 2,000 soldiers in the past 24 hours, say Ukraine's defiant military - but Putin's men are still storming through the country at an alarming rate.

The previous highest was 1,950 on November 12 - with the General Staff of the Armed Forces stating Thursday saw 2,030 deaths.

It proves Putin's meat grinder approach is still miserably failing with over 738,000 Russian soldiers now dying under Vlad's orders.

But despite the harrowing figures continuing to soar Russia has found success on the battlefield.

Ukraine is also taking hope from their own set of figures which say they have blasted thousands of Russian war weapons in the last two years.

Almost 20,000 drones, 10,000 tanks and hundreds of warships, planes and helicopters have all been eliminated from the dictator's arsenal, the Armed Forces say.
