Muslim women link hands and bow heads on Westminster bridge in touching tribute to London terror attack victims
MUSLIM women linked hands and bowed their heads in silence for five minutes on Westminster Bridge yesterday.
Around 100 took part in the vigil to remember the victims of terrorist Khalid Masood, who killed four people in a car and knife attack last Wednesday.
They stood side by side — many wearing traditional Islamic attire and blue items to symbolise peace — and spanned the bridge where the outrage began.
North of the capital at Wembley Stadium, 90,000 football fans and players paid their respects by observing a minute’s silence before England’s 2-0 win over Lithuania in a World Cup qualifier.

The sign “We Stand Together” could be seen as London Mayor Sadiq Khan laid a wreath on the pitch with acting Met Police commissioner Craig Mackey, MP Karen Bradley and FA chairman Greg Clarke.
Outside the stadium there was a heavy security presence with seven-ton bomb-proof police vans dubbed “The Guardians” deployed.
Firearms teams wielding automatic rifles were seen on patrol as the threat level for the event was considered severe.
