Corrie McKeague’s brothers pay moving tribute to ‘truly the best mum’ as search continues for RAF gunner
The much loved RAF gunner vanished while on a night out with pals in Suffolk six months ago
THE brothers of a missing RAF airman have posted touching tributes to their mum on Mother's Day - as detectives continue to search for him at a landfill site in Cambrige.
Corrie Mckeague, 23, from Fife in Scotland, vanished while on a night out with pals in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on 24 September.
His two siblings Darroch and Makyean, today, described their mum Nicola McKeough as the "best in the world" in a series of emotional Facebook posts.
Corrie's younger brother Darroch wrote: "I don't know what the hell I would do without you! Thank you for everything you have done for me and especially for the past 6 months.
"I honestly don't see how I could get through all this without having you! I know Mothers Day isn't complete without Corrie but just know all 3 of us love you so bloody much and you truly are the best mum anyone could ask for."
While Makeyan posted on Facebook: "I honestly can not put into words how much this woman means to me.
"She is the strongest person I know and I am so very proud to have her as my mum!
"The past 6 months have been difficult to get through and I have no idea how I could have gotten through it without you!
"You have guided me to be the man I am today and continue to help me grow to be a better person.
"I can only hope that whenever I have kids of my own I can be half the amazing parent you are!"
The touching tribute comes as Nicola Urquhart, who has three sons, thanked everyone for helping in the search for Corrie on the social media networking site - showing she received a bouquet of flowers.
Meanwhile Corrie's distraught father has blasted plans to hold a concert in his son's name - saying "it's in bad taste" until his boy has been found.
Martin McKeague, 48, slammed the gig which was revealed by his ex-wife Nicola last week.
He said: "It's a disgrace that plans are being made to hold 'Corrie's Concert' when we have not even found our son. It's in bad taste."
In another interview Martin opened up on the ordeal of searching for Corrie and says he is "just existing" six months on from his disappearance.
Martin told STV News: "I never imagined being here six months down the line. It's utterly heart-breaking and I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
"I don't know where the time's gone - I'm just existing, trying day by day to get through this mess."
Police are currently continuing to search for Corrie at a landfill site in Milton, Cambrige.
They said they have so far sifted through more than 800 tonnes of rubbish.
A bin collection was carried out by a lorry shortly after his disappearance in the area he was last seen.
