The dad-of-two, though to work in banking, changed his profile picture, alongside another snap of him with his wife and one of their daughters, to a photo of a rose by the message: “Roses are usually red, our angel who was never blue.

“The most beautiful flower in our garden of joy. Protect us from heaven in all that we do.”

Friends immediately offered messages of support in English and John’s native Portuguese.

Jose Guimaraes wrote in Portuguese: “These are difficult moments John. I don’t have words to ease your pain.

“God has taken her body but you are left with everlasting memories and two daughters who are the legacy she will leave you always.”

Friend Hannah Fermin wrote: “John, I’m so very very sorry. No words for how you and your girls must be feeling at this time but you are very much in our thoughts.”

Aysha, 43, was killed as she went to pick up her girls aged 11 and 8 from school after leaving her job as an administrative worker at DLD College London.

Locals in the Galician town of Betanzos, where her mum Maria del Carmen originally comes from and where her two sisters run a language academy, held a minute’s silence yesterday after learning of the tragedy.

John’s cousin, also called John, said yesterday/on Thursday: “His life’s completely fallen apart. They’ve got young kids.

“You can’t believe how anyone could do something like that.

“When I heard, I was just absolutely shocked. I’m still feeling terrible.”

Mrs Frade is thought to have been killed after being hit by the terrorist’s car as he drove across Westminster Bridge and being thrown under the wheels of a double-decker bus.

PC Keith Palmer died after being stabbed by the terrorist, and three other officers were injured - PC Kris Aves, who sustained life changing injuries, PC Roger Smith and PC Bradley Bryant.
