MORE than a dozen of Sir Keir Starmer’s frontbench ministers have hurled abuse at Donald Trump in a barrage that threatens to unravel Britain’s bond with our closest ally.

Some of the PM’s closest allies, including Yvette Cooper, Ed Miliband and Wes Streeting, have joined the attacks on the President-elect in speeches and in comments on TV or X.

It is now feared they could permanently damage the so-called special relationship.

A Sun on Sunday investigation today reveals the scale of years of anti-Trump outbursts by ministers pictured alongside the PM in Labour’s post-election photo.

Energy Secretary Miliband in 2016 stated: “Trump’s a racist bigot.”

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper also claimed Trump’s first successful Presidential campaign in 2016, where he saw off Hillary Clinton, was “built on vitriol and abuse.”

Environment Secretary Steve Reed told his constituents to “show the racist bigot what we really think of him”.

Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds – set to lead negotiations on any future trade agreement – wrote in 2018: “What do Trump and the Brexiters (sic) have in common? A disregard for all but themselves.”

Transport Secretary Louise Haigh said of Trump’s first term: “We have a responsibility to stand up to this belligerent and reckless US President.”

Labour leader Sir Keir targeted Trump with personal barbs while in opposition, even saying he lacked “humanity and dignity”.

His deputy, Angela Rayner, once called him a “buffoon” who had “no place in the White House”.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy also labelled him a “bigot” and a “sociopath”.

Diplomatic experts have already raised fears that Labour damaged the bond with Trump’s team when party staff went to the US to knock doors for the doomed Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign.

The operation, organised by Labour’s head of operations Sofia Patel, involved dozens of grassroots activists travelling to swing states all eventually won by Trump.
