A “SEVERED arm and leg” have reportedly been found by a horrified passerby hidden in bushes near a prison.

The human remains were spotted by a member of the public on Sewell Road and Easter Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to Sewell Road in Thamesmead yesterday afternoon

The Metropolitan Police responded to concerned calls from Sewell Road, in Thamesmead, south-east London, after the grim discovery Wednesday afternoon.

Officers arrived at around 12.40pm to find the “suspected” humans remains.

A cordon was put in place while forensic teams investigate the “remains”.

The Met Police is yet to confirm if they are human and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called at 12:36hrs on Wednesday, 6 November to reports of suspected human remains/bones at Sewell Road, Thamesmead.

“A cordon has been put in place while forensic officers examine the item and establish its origins.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
