‘Severed arm and leg’ discovered ‘hidden’ in bushes near prison by horrified passerby

A cordon has been put in place while forensic officers investigate

A "SEVERED arm and leg" have reportedly been found by a horrified passerby hidden in bushes near a prison.

The human remains were spotted by a member of the public on Sewell Road and Easter Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Police responded to concerned calls from Sewell Road, in Thamesmead, south-east London, after the grim discovery Wednesday afternoon.

Officers arrived at around 12.40pm to find the "suspected" humans remains.

A cordon was put in place while forensic teams investigate the "remains".

The Met Police is yet to confirm if they are human and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called at 12:36hrs on Wednesday, 6 November to reports of suspected human remains/bones at Sewell Road, Thamesmead.

"A cordon has been put in place while forensic officers examine the item and establish its origins.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
