Woman falls to her death from window at block of flats near Travelodge sparking huge emergency response
A WOMAN has fallen to her death from a window at a block of flats near a Travelodge sparking a huge emergency response.
North Yorkshire Police raced to a concern for welfare report in Piccadilly, York city centre, shortly after 11am yesterday.
Emergency services also rushed to the scene but sadly the woman had "suffered fatal injuries".
A police spokesperson said: "Tragically, the woman fell from a window, and suffered fatal injuries.
"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
A police car was seen blocking the entrance to Piccadilly from Tower Street, and a cordon was set up outside the Travelodge near Ryedale House.

Armed officers were spotted at the scene, with several police vehicles parked nearby.
A fire engine and an ambulance were also seen in the street.
Police are urging locals to avoid the area that was cordoned off, even after the road reopened.
The North Yorkshire Police spokesperson added: "We’re at the scene of an incident on Piccadilly, York.
