Miss Colombia winner Laura González Ospina looks ecstatic as she triumphs in battle of the babes ahead of Miss Universe final
SHE battled it out with some of the most drop dead gorgeous beauties her country had to offer - and now she’s taking on the world.
After a tough and sometimes tense battle, 21-year-old Laura González Ospina impressed judges as an all-rounder in body, soul and mind.
Miss Ospina was born in Cali in the south west of the country but moved later to the northern city of Cartagena whom she represented.
The 5ft 5ins babe enjoys singing and reading, speaks English and French and impressed judges with her concern about animal welfare and the environment.
The South American country is famed for producing the some of the world’s most stunning beauty contestants.
The final Miss Colombia election night is one of the most-viewed events of the year in the country.
It organises more than 10 beauty pageants every day or, according to some estimates, 3,794 per year.

Miss Ospina will now go forward and represent her country in the Miss Universe 2017 contest.
She will hope to be a little more fortunate than her predecessor.
Last year Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, 21, was humiliated after she was announced as the Miss Universe winner at a ceremony in Las Vegas, only for the crown to be taken off her and given to the real champion, Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.
