The Israeli Defense Forces said on Monday the hospital served as a “terror command centre”.

Weapons, terror funds and Hamas documents were reportedly found at the site, according to .

The Israeli outlet added that 60 terrorists of the 100 were reportedly apprehended within the hospital itself, including some linked to the October 7 attacks.

Soldiers from the elite Israeli reconnaissance unit Shayetet 13 were seen approaching the building with tanks and armoured vehicles before sneaking into the hospital hallways.

The video ended with the squad examining what appeared to be a weapons cache discovered in a hospital room, although it did not show the soldiers apprehending terrorists or medical personnel.

Hamas and Gaza health officials disputed that there were militants at the hospital, claiming that Israeli troops had arrested scores of essential male medical staff members while the institution was already having trouble running.

But the IDF claimed that this was essential because Hamas had disguised several identifiable fighters as medical staff.

An official said: "The soldiers apprehended approximately 100 terrorists from the compound, including terrorists who attempted to escape during the evacuation of civilians.

"Inside the hospital, they found weapons, terror funds, and intelligence documents.

"A few of the fully identified terrorists disguised themselves as medical staff so we didn't have any alternative but to check the medical staff as well."

The military stated that the operation in Jabaliya would continue with two brigades remaining and a third unit being moved out.

Approximately 600 terrorists surrendered during the broader campaign, including several who went through new checkpoints near Jabaliya's refugee camp, YNet reports.

But the IDF thinks that a few hundred Hamas fighters remain in the city.

In the last month, the IDF has resumed its offensive in northern Gaza, causing extensive damage with its bombings.

After more than a year of war, Israel's military claims it is attempting to stop Hamas fighters from regrouping.

Fellow terrorists Hezbollah, meanwhile, have been experiencing a wave of desertions as the group's leadership has been wiped out in Israeli airstrikes.

The Iran-backed group has been rocked by pager blasts that injured thousands of its members, Israeli bombings that killed Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and now an Israeli ground invasion into southern Lebanon.

In a report published Sunday, sources told the Arabic independent online newspaper Elaph that Hezbollah is having trouble communicating with its fighters on the ground as a result of combatants leaving their stations.

When senior terrorists call, insiders claimed, those believed to be defecting do not report and do not wait at their designated locations.

According to reports, some terrorists have also escaped to Syrian territory with their families in an effort to avoid a close-quarters conflict with Israel.

The terror group has now reportedly started sending reinforcements to southern Lebanon to fight Israeli forces in an effort to survive the desertion of its members, the insiders claimed.

According to the sources, there are also concerns that the defections, which are currently mostly found in southern Lebanon, will spread to terrorists across the country.

Hezbollah fighters have apparently found it difficult to find fresh terrorists to support their campaign against Israel as a result of the clashes on the southern border.

It comes as Israel launched fresh fire jet attacks in the area of Tzur in southern Lebanon.
