LABOUR MPs must talk more about migration or face being booted out after one term, PM Sir Keir Starmer’s chief of staff has warned.

Morgan McSweeney told the party’s new MPs to stop ignoring the issue or face the threat of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK at the next election.

Across a series of regions-based strategy meetings in Downing Street Sir Keir Starmer’s right hand man urged fresh faced Labourites not to underestimate the threat of Reform.

He said they cannot hide from the “tough questions” voters care about — especially legal and illegal immigration.

Mr Starmer has pinned his hopes of tackling the small boats on targeting people smuggling gangs — and ditched the Tories’ Rwanda plan.

But numbers have already hit 27,500 this year — more than for the same period in 2023.

Mr Farage said: “Labour are right to be worried about Reform.

“We came second to Labour in 89 seats at the general election, and will be targeting their record at the 2025 local elections and beyond.

“Make no mistake, Reform is coming for Keir Starmer’s Labour.”

At the 2019 general election Reform came second place to Labour in 89 seats, including those where hardly any canvassing took place.

Mr Farage’s party swept to victory in five constituencies and received a 14.3 per cent vote share.

Sir Keir Starmer’s party bagged just 33.7 per cent of votes.
