No10 boss orders Labour MPs not to shy away from immigration debate to keep seats at 2029 election
LABOUR MPs must talk about migration more or face being booted out after one term, a new No10 boss has warned.
On Wednesday Morgan McSweeney told squeamish newbie politicians to stop ignoring small boats and legal migration or face Nigel Farage’s wrath.
Across a series of regions-based strategy meetings in Downing Street Sir Keir Starmer's right hand man urged fresh faced Labourites not to underestimate the threat of Reform.
MPs in the room were told they cannot hide from the “tough questions” voters care about, especially immigration.
After months of chaos in No10, Mr McSweeney added that everyone should be laser focussed on the 2029 election.
Multiple new Labour politicians expressed to the No10 chief that they also fear what would happen if Reform occupy the entire migration debate.

An MP said: “The PM’s team were definitely being a lot more strategic and focused than we have seen in last few months.”
Responding to the meetings, Reform chief Mr Farage said: “Labour are right to be worried about Reform.
“We came second to Labour in 89 seats at the general election, and will be targeting their record at the 2025 local elections and beyond.
“Make no mistake, Reform is coming for Keir Starmer’s Labour.”
