Tragedy as baby boy dies after being found ‘unresponsive’ at home – with cops launching urgent probe

A BABY boy has tragically died after being found "unresponsive" at a home.

Emergency services scrambled to a property on Moorland Road in Burnley, just after 7.30am on Monday after reports about the tot's condition.

He was rushed to hospital and despite the best efforts of medical personnel was later pronounced dead.

Lancashire Constabulary launched an urgent probe after the tragic death.

Cops said the boy's death is currently being treated as "unexpected" and "enquiries are ongoing".

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police.

In a statement, the force said: "We were called by the North-West Ambulance Service at 7.31am Monday (October 21) to Moorland Road, Burnley, to a report that a baby was unresponsive.

"Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he was later pronounced deceased in hospital.

"Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly distressing time.

"The boy’s death is currently being treated as unexpected.

"Our enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information can call 101. Quote log 181 of October 21."
