His loving partner Savannah Parker has spoken out on her boyfriend's death revealing how the past four days have been incredibly tough.

She told : "It's 5am and I haven't eaten or slept. Someone tell me this is a nightmare.

"I feel violently sick at the fact you're not coming back. Please come back. Answer the phone."

Parker last spoke to her boyfriend just eight hours before he fell to his death.

The final text she sent to Stevenson read: "Good night, I love you."

She also believes that the Brit from Derby may have passed out on the bridge which caused him to fall.

I don't look into things because I worry enough as it is and I just let him do his thing and generally he just comes back. This weekend he didn't

Parker said: "He didn't just fall. He lost consciousness because he wasn't feeling well.

"His friend who he was with sent me over his police statement.

"He told his friend he wasn't feeling well and he said, 'Shall we go back down?'

"Lewis said, 'Give me a minute', and that's when he lost consciousness and slipped."

The 26-year-old had been climbing for fun for over five years and was known for his ambitious attempts at scaling some of the tallest landmarks in Europe and the US.

Snaps on his social media show him standing hundreds of feet in the air on top of a New York skyscraper.

Other pictures showed the thrill-seeker overlooking London on top of a metal beam and even peering over a forest in Croatia.

"Every time he went away I would tell him to be careful," Parker added.

"As much as it worries me, I don't look into things because I worry enough as it is and I just let him do his thing and generally he just comes back.

"This weekend he didn't.

"It is one thing to hear that he's gone but it's how tragic it happened."

One of Stevenson's pals and a fellow climber also left a touching tribute to the "bravest, most caring and funny person" he had ever met.

He said: "Knowing you has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.

"And losing you is the greatest sadness of my life.

"No amount of words on a stupid Instagram post will ever describe how much I miss you.

"You will always be the bravest, most caring and funny person I've ever known. I'm proud of every building, every rooftop, every moment of our time together.

"My best friend, my brother. Rest easy, we'll meet again one day."

Authorities in Spain said Stevenson was climbing up the 630ft bridge with a 24-year-old friend at around 7.15am on Sunday morning.

Cops said the pal was left traumatised and in a state of shock for some time after the fatal plunge.

Initial reports point towards Stevenson trying to take a picture for his social media at the moment he lost his footing and fell to the ground below.

The towering bridge stands over the Tagus River - 90 minutes southwest of Madrid.

Footage from the scene of the tragedy showed police cordoning off the area near to where he fell.

His body was found a short time later after a local driver reported the dangerous climb.

National Police as well as local town-hall employed firefighters rushed to the scene with paramedics but there was nothing they could to save the Brit.

Stevenson's grandfather Clifford, 70, revealed that his stunts had always scared the family.

He told MailOnline: "We all tried to talk him out of it. We were always trying to talk him out of doing things but that was the way he was.

"He loved doing it, always went out there believing he'd be alright. He did what he did for his own pleasure.

"He did not get any money for it, he was an adventurer."

Local councillor Macarena Munoz confirmed the tragedy last weekend and said climbing the bridge was "totally banned".

She said: "We have made it clear on several occasions that it's not something that can be done in any circumstances."

Investigators are now set to look into the possibility bad weather may have played a part into the fall as rained heavily the night before the tragedy.
