JAFFA QUAKE

Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn smashes world record after baking largest ever Jaffa Cake

The baker teamed up Hambleton Bakery to create the 4ft mammoth bake smashing the previous Guinness World Record

FORMER Great British Bake Off champion Frances Quinn has turned a big idea into mighty reality — by making the world’s biggest Jaffa Cake at 4ft across.

Frances, 35, used 120 eggs and 20kg of chocolate, and had to bake the cake in six parts to fit it in the oven, before it was all pieced together.

It beat the previous record by a foot.

Frances, who teamed up with Hambleton Bakery in Nottingham, said: “I got the idea when there was a debate about whether Jaffa Cakes are biscuits or cakes. It took a lot of planning.”

Her next challenge? A giant Hobnob.
